Why we need your Donation
Most of our students are orphans and vulnerable young people who cannot afford to pay for the lessons thus study for free, yet the school has to run, thus seeking for support.
At the International School of Music, Languages and Polytechnic Studies (IMLS), we help young people from humble backgrounds grow their talents and skills through programs in Music, ICT, Technical Training, Business, Sports, and Students’ Welfare.
We’ve built exciting student groups and clubs such as the Orchestra, Brass Band, Children’s Choir, Adult Choir, Students’ Jazz Band, Traditional Dance Troupe, as well as ICT and Language Clubs, where learners get opportunities to perform, showcase their talents, and even support the school through fundraising events.
Our growing Sports Program provides learners with opportunities to develop physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and leadership through games and competitive activities.
Through our Students’ Welfare initiatives, we ensure that learners receive guidance, mentorship, personal support, and a safe, caring environment that promotes their well-being.
Together, these creative, technical, and welfare-centered programs are giving young people the skills, confidence, and foundation they need to become empowered, self-reliant, and future-ready.
At the International School of Music, Languages and Polytechnic Studies (IMLS), we are nurturing various music groups made up of our talented children and youth, including the Orchestra, Brass Band, Live Band, Children’s Choir, Adult Choir, and Traditional Dance Troupe. These groups perform at different events and play an important role in supporting the school’s fundraising activities. We have so far managed to provide uniforms and costumes for the Brass Band, Live Band, and Traditional Dance Troupe, but the Choirs are still in need. Your unwavering support in helping us provide for them is deeply appreciated, as it enables our young performers to look smart, feel confident, and shine proudly on stage.
We lack enough funds to pay for staff salaries because due to the enormous number of children and youth that keep rising all the time, there is necessity for a large number of staff to provide good services to the them. However, with the little funds available, and with FMK support, we can only pay a few staff members and the rest help at their will and convenience as volunteers, for which they are paid a small token within our means. However, such people are unreliable as they may move to a permanent well paying job if availed with one. But if they are confirmed as staff with a good salary, that would be good security for them, for our children, and for the organization as a whole.
The school currently operates from a single room that serves both administrative work and lessons. As a result, most lessons are held outdoors under tree shades, which becomes impossible during the rainy season. The good news is that construction of a 5-storey building for the school has already begun. The basement is now complete and already in use, and the ground floor structure has been topped with inner plastering also finished. Our plan is to continue using the building while gradually adding the upper floors in the future. Any support for this project will be highly appreciated to help us complete the building as soon as possible.
With our main goal of bringing Music, Business, and Technical skills to every corner of our society, IMLS conducts outreach programs by transporting Instructors and instruments to various primary and secondary schools using our school van, a specially customized vehicle. As the number of learners continues to grow, there is an increasing demand for more instruments and additional Instructors and volunteers. However, our current van has become too small to accommodate the larger number of Instructors, volunteers, and instruments needed to fully serve all students. This creates an urgent need for a bigger vehicle to ensure that our outreach programs can reach and benefit every learner effectively.
