Music Department
International school of music, languages and polytechnic studies (IMLS) Human Resource department is looking to appoint dynamic lecturers who are passionate about supporting and developing Music Education opportunities for both adult and young people. Candidates must be experienced in at least one of the instruments listed below:
The violin lecturer is expected to be highly skilled musician and have a solid foundation in music theory. He/She must have gained practical experience through prior performance and formal education. Violin Lecturer is expected to hold a variety of positions, including:
- Section member
- Concertmaster
- Soloist
- Guest performer
As a professional musician (Lecturer) who teaches the cello instrument, must have a proven experience as soloist or a member of a classical music orchestra. In addition to working in live performance settings, a lecturer is also expected to show the students on how to play the instrument during recording sessions.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate to students on how to set up and performing for live audiences, and attending rehearsals and studio sessions in a timely manner.
- Maintaining all gear and tuning cello instrument when necessary.
- Teaching melodies, songs, and practicing vocals when required.
- Attending all PR events and maintaining an appropriate online presence and IMLS image.
- Responding well to feedback and recommendations, as well as offering helpful suggestions.
- Networking with other musicians and industry professionals.
- Preparing for and attending auditions.

A djembe lecturer is expected to have a proven experience in playing the drum set and demonstrate to the students on how to provide rhythm and beat to a performance, play the drum during studio recording sessions, and contribute to the production of music.
He/She should encourage students to attend rehearsals, updating their knowledge of new music, and playing at events.
He/She should demonstrate excellent rhythm, superior timing and consistency, and be self-motivated.
The expected responsibilities are:
- Generating the beat and timing in music.
- Playing at events and live performances.
- Motivating band players to perform their best.

The expected Requirements are:

A guitar lecturer is expected to evaluate students on how to play guitars for live performances or recordings. He/She must have a prior knowledge on how to play different types of guitars like classic, acoustic, electric, or bass, and play in a band or as a solo act.
He/She should encourage students to attend rehearsals, updating their knowledge of new music, and playing at events.
He/She should have knowledge of a range of genres and be able to quickly pick up a song.

Internship
The IMLS cannot yet actually pay all salaries for teachers. Therefore the school relies on voluntary work. If you would like to contribute to the development of the IMLS and collect a lot of valuabel experiences for yourself at the same time, please get in touch with us. The IMLS is looking forward to seeing you!
IMLS-Volunteers are in two categories:
1. International volunteers, most from Germany, who travel all the way from home to come and convey their services to the children and organisation without any pay in return.
2. Ugandan volunteers who teach the students almost free of charge. They are given a small token from the IMLS within means as a way of appreciation.
