Wedding of Mr. Andrew Matovu Kabulassoke and Mrs. Claire Nanziri

Introduction ceremony on the 19th of May, 2022

Mr. Matovu Kabulassoke Andrew, the treasurer Board of Governors IMLS was introduced by Ms Claire Nanziri on the 19th of May in Nyendo. The function was graced by friends and family members beautifully dressed in Gomesis and Kanzus. Various delicacies were prepared for lunch. While the guests were enjoying their lunch, a few selected family members were invited to the negotiation of the terms of the marriage inside the house. After lunch and the negotiations, Andrew was shown to all invited guests by Claire’s aunt. He then welcomed his bride Claire, in a stunning white gomesi, followed by others in equally marvellous traditional dresses. At the end of the day a lot of gifts were offered to the family of the bride by the groom.

Massive pre-party on the 20th of May, 2022

In the evening of the following day, Andrew launched the pre-party with many guests. Teachers of IMLS were attending the party while the Junior Band, consisting of students of IMLS, performed. Various students from the different departments showed their incredible talents in front of the excited audience.

Wedding on the 21st of May, 2022

The official wedding ceremony of Mr.Matovu Kabulassoke Andrew and Ms. Claire Nanziri took place on the 21st of May at Kitovu cathedral. It was accompanied with Ugandan church hymns played by the IMLS Brass Band and the Choir of the Kitovu Parish. After the impressive mass, the band first led the newlyweds out of the church with a slow march, then proceeded in quick march ahead of the motorcade towards the wedding location, the Maria Flo Hotel. Having arrived at the place of the following festivities, all guests enjoyed their lunch and then gathered in the main tent, awaiting the arrival of the married couple. Andrew and Claire then groovingly entered the tent, the bridesmaids and best men ahead of them. The Brass Band delighted the assembled guests with the Ugandan anthem, as well as the anthem of the Buganda Kingdom in the presence of the bride and groom. It was such a colourful function filled with love and happiness. Congratulations to the newly weds
